We understand there may be an urgent need to receive an order quickly around Christmas or other holiday periods, if this is the case please contact us directly and we will endeavour to speed up the process for you around this time.

We hope that you are happy with your purchase but we understand that occasionally you may request to return an item. If this is the case please notify us within 14 days of receiving your order.   Unfortunately we cannot accept returns unless the upholstery or workmanship is faulty. We always endeavour to ensure your chair or sofa has been restored to the highest standards, but please bear in mind when buying vintage items, there may be unavoidable wear and tear consistent with the age of the item.   If a return has been agreed, please package your item ready for transportation. All goods must be returned in perfect and re-sellable condition.

What can I expect when buying vintage?

Our chairs begin their journey with us as vintage, in some cases they are a century old before their appearance in our workshop. Typically they are fully stripped back and the frames re-glued and strengthened. We then sand, stain, french polish and wax where necessary. We always respect the age and patina of the piece. We reupholster with new fabric and stuffing to the highest standards, using a mix of modern and traditional upholstery techniques. We use a calico barrier cloth immediately beneath the top fabric, to Crib 5 standard. This complies with the match test described in Schedule 5 Part 1 of the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire Safety) Regulations, published in the UK in 1988, and amended in 1989, 1993 and 2010. The stuffings and fillings we use are new. We will use either traditional stuffings such as coconut fibre (Coir) and wool, or high-quality foams, dependent on the age of the piece.
